Washer/Dryer Questions

The vast majority of the time when a dryer does not turn on, it is the breaker switch. Please locate your breaker box and find the switch for the washer/dryer outlet. Sometimes this requires flipping the breaker switch a few times, making sure you are completely turning it off and then on again.

There could be a couple of reasons why it is not drying the clothes thoroughly. The most common reason is that the ventilation to the dryer has a blockage. If the dryer is getting heat (you can run the dryer for 30 seconds and feel if there is heat) and the drum is turning (you can check to see if the drum moved during the 30 second heat test), then the issue is most likely that the ventilation to the dryer is constricted. You will need to request the apartment's maintenance department to clean out the vent of your apartment. If there is no heat at all after being on for 30 seconds of if the drum is not spinning, place a repair work order.
